Do you believe in yourself? What do you think you can do? What does it mean to believe?
These are some pretty big questions. They’re ones I’ve asked myself over and over again. And when I first started to ask myself these questions, I was very quick to say HELL YAH I do! But the more I took a look at my results and noticed how I procrastinated in my business, I started to wonder if I really did.
I don’t think I’m different from most. I think most people will too say yes, of course, I believe in myself and yet when they step out to start the business, sell the house, quit the job, ask a prospect to take a look at their business they become paralyzed with fear and don’t take the steps either. Why?
Well, it’s the paradigm getting in the way. Most people don’t understand that they are not programmed to do the things they want to do, but more importantly, they do not understand who they are and what they are capable of. They don’t believe in themselves.
I love what my mentor Bob Proctor says! After almost 60 years of studying the mind, he says: “We are God’s highest form of creation!” Now I can’t exactly explain to you what that means because I haven’t quite figured it out, but what I do know is the realizations that I have come across since studying that statement.
Bob also says that the wisest scientist can’t even tell us what you and I are capable of! This is why self-study is so crucial to your development. I can sit here and tell you how amazing you are and give you motivation from here to Timbuktu but it’s not about the motivation that causes us to believe in ourselves. It's about understanding who we are and the thoughts that cause us to feel the way we feel.
For me, to believe means to have faith, to understand and know that everything we ask for, will be delivered to us when we need it. Everything we want is already here, we just aren’t aware of it yet! I have committed myself to study who I am because the more I understand me, the more I understand what I’m capable of. This is when and why things really started to take a turn for me!
I can’t tell you how to believe in yourself, but what I do know is that when you know who you are, you will believe in you!
I want to leave you with one of my favourite poems by an unknown author. I’ve read this quote too many times to count and can repeat it verbatim. When discussing faith and belief this one really hits the nail on the head. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
Stay Happy & Healthy,
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but think you can’t
It’s almost certain you won’t
If you think you’ll lose, you're lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind
If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to ride,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize
Life’s battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late, the man you wins
Is the man who thinks he can!
